Engagements
Three engagements.
One consistent approach.
Each engagement is complete in itself — a defined scope, a fixed price, and a written output. The three differ in duration and purpose, not in the quality of attention they receive.
Back to HomeMethodology
How the work is conducted.
Every Fyrelane engagement begins with the same preparation: a short written document that sets out what the consultant understands about the situation, the proposed scope of the work, and how the output will be structured. This document is reviewed and agreed before the first session.
The session itself — whether a single Warp Conversation or one of the fortnightly sessions in a Loom Programme — is conducted as a structured conversation, not a workshop or presentation. The consultant listens more than they speak, asks questions that open rather than close, and keeps careful notes.
The written output is drafted after each session or observation period and reviewed before delivery. It is written in plain English, addressed to the people who were part of the engagement, and designed to be read without the consultant's presence to explain it.
Where an engagement involves observing how teams work together — as in the Threading Engagement and Loom Programme — the consultant takes a light hand. The aim is to describe what is happening, not to interrupt or redirect it while it is happening.

Warp Conversation
A short engagement built around a single, structured conversation between the chief executive and the consultant. The session is preceded by a short preparation document and followed by a written reflection delivered within ten days. The intent is to give the leader a careful counterpart for one hour of focused discussion on a matter they have not yet found the right framing for. The output is intentionally modest — a written document that captures the conversation's themes and offers a few considerations for the leader to take forward.
- One focused hour with the principal consultant
- Short preparation document sent in advance
- Written reflection delivered within ten days
- Suited to managing directors with a specific question

- 01 Introductory call to confirm scope and question

Engagement 02 · SGD 745
Threading Engagement
A five-week engagement for organisations that would value an outside perspective on the way their teams hand work to one another. The work involves shadowing across two or three handoff points within a function, gathering observations from people on either side of those handoffs, and producing a written description of what was observed. The document is shared with the team itself, so that the people closest to the work are the ones who carry the conversation forward.
- Observation across two or three handoff points
- Short conversations with people on either side
- Written document shared with the observed team
- Plain language, no prescriptions or frameworks
Process
- 01 Scope conversation and agreement on handoff points
- 02 Weeks 1–3: observation sessions and informal conversations
- 03 Week 4: drafting and review of written description
- 04 Week 5: delivery and short session with the team

Loom Programme
A six-month programme for leadership teams undertaking a substantial cross-functional initiative. The programme includes a kickoff retreat, a fortnightly working session with the steering group, and a closing review at the conclusion of the period. The consultant acts as a quiet weaver between functions — holding context across teams, surfacing tensions early, and offering written summaries that help the wider leadership stay coordinated.
- Kickoff retreat with the steering group
- Fortnightly working sessions across six months
- Written summaries between sessions
- Closing review document at programme end
Process
- 01 Scoping conversation and programme agreement
- 02 Kickoff retreat (half-day, with steering group)
- 03 Months 1–6: fortnightly sessions and written summaries
- 04 Closing review session and final written document
Duration
Six months, fortnightly sessions
Fee

Not sure which engagement fits?
A short introductory conversation will usually make it clear. If none of the three engagements is a good fit, we will say so directly.
